Privacy Policy

This policy describes how the ContactWise Pro iOS app handles information. ContactWise Pro is designed to process contact records on your device. This policy should be updated if the app, its providers, or its data practices change.

Information the app accesses

If you grant Contacts access, the app reads the contacts made available by iOS to find duplicates, calculate contact-health summaries, search and organize records, create backups, and prepare changes you choose to review. Depending on the feature and the fields available, this can include names, phone numbers, email addresses, organizations, postal addresses, birthdays, website addresses, contact images, and contact identifiers. Limited Contacts access means the app can only process contacts you selected or that iOS makes available.

When you use the business-card scanner, the app captures an image and uses Apple Vision/VisionKit recognition on device to suggest contact details. You review and edit suggestions; the app does not save them to Contacts until you approve the save. Camera access is requested for that feature.

How information is used and stored

Contact records are processed locally on your Apple device. The app does not send your address book to ContactWise Pro servers. Scan summaries, app preferences, saved views and tags, backup metadata, and operation history are stored locally by the app. App-specific tags do not change a contact's Notes field.

Backups created by the app are encrypted. Device-held local backups use a key protected by the device Keychain. Password-protected exports are encrypted for transfer using the password you provide. Keep that password safe; we cannot recover it. If you choose to export or share a file through Apple Files or another destination, that destination's handling is governed by its provider and your choices.

ContactWise Pro does not include a third-party advertising, analytics, or AI upload service in this build. Purchase availability and entitlement checks use Apple StoreKit. Apple processes payments and may provide transaction information needed for the app to verify your purchase; ContactWise Pro does not receive your payment card details. Permissions and notifications

• Contacts: requested when you choose a feature that needs contacts. You can change access in iOS Settings.
• Camera: used only when you start business-card capture.
• Notifications: requested only when you enable cleanup reminders. Reminder notifications are scheduled locally and do not include contact names or details.

Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell personal information or disclose contact records to advertising networks. Information leaves the app only when you explicitly use an Apple or third-party sharing/export destination, or when Apple processes App Store purchases and related entitlement information. The app does not provide a cloud account or server-side contact synchronization.

Retention and deletion

App data remains on your device until you delete it in the app, remove the app, or otherwise manage device storage. Exported backup files remain wherever you saved them and must be deleted separately. Contact records that you save or edit are stored by the accounts configured in Apple Contacts; their retention and synchronization are controlled by Apple and the relevant contact provider. App removal may not remove files you exported or contact changes already saved to an account.

Security

The app uses platform security features, including encrypted backup archives and Keychain protection for device backup keys. No method of storage or transmission is completely risk-free. Protect your device and any backup-export passwords.

Children

ContactWise Pro is a general-purpose utility and is not designed to collect information from children through an online account. The app does not provide an account or online contact-upload service.

Changes to this policy

This page will be updated if our data practices materially change. The effective date above indicates the latest revision.
